Accessible Uffizi Gallery Tour for seniors and disabled: the art of emotions
Wheelchair-Accessible Tour of Uffizi Gallery Masterpieces in Florence: discover the art and values of the Renaissance
The accessible private tour of the Uffizi Gallery with skip-the-line tickets begins at the meeting point, where you will meet our guide. From here you will enter the museum through a special entrance designed for people with disabilities and you will reach the second floor via an elevator, which is the starting point of the tour within the Gallery.
The second floor of the Uffizi Gallery is the heart of the museum, housing some of the most famous artworks in the world, ranging from the period of Giotto to Dürer. Here you can admire the double portrait of the Dukes of Urbino by Piero della Francesca and closely contemplate Botticelli’s two most renowned masterpieces: Primavera and The Birth of Venus. These two works by Botticelli, created between the late 1470s and early 1480s, are among the most iconic and famous of the entire Renaissance period.
Proceeding along a bright corridor adorned with marble busts and frescoes, you will explore the various rooms of the Gallery, including the magnificent hall entirely dedicated to the master Leonardo da Vinci. Here you will be captivated by the three magnificent works on display: The Annunciation, The Baptism of Christ (by Leonardo and Verrocchio), and The Adoration of the Magi, whose meanings and details you will discover.
Next, you will enter the room dedicated to Michelangelo and Raphael, whose works have had a profound and lasting influence on Western art. In this room you will admire among the various works Michelangelo's Tondo Doni, the only complete panel painting by the artist to survive, and Raphael's Madonna of the Goldfinch.
Throughout the wheelchair-accessible tour of the Uffizi Gallery, you will be able to use toilets specially designed for wheelchair users.
At the end of the second floor, you will find the museum café, which allows you to enjoy a pleasant break with small snacks, coffee, and refreshing drinks. All of this is framed by an unparalleled panoramic view of Palazzo Vecchio and the charming historic center of Florence.
After taking the elevator down to the first floor of the Gallery, you will fully explore the rooms and the magnificent works present on this floor, which is also completely accessible. You will closely observe a multitude of works up to 1600, including Caravaggio's Bacchus and Medusa and Titian's Venus of Urbino, one of the most famous nudes of all time.
