Optimize your experience with this accessible itinerary designed for your needs
Begin your tour of Rome's main squares and fountains starting from the majestic Piazza del Popolo, known for its architectural elegance and its Porta del Popolo, historically linked to the entrance of travelers into the city from the north.
The car will drop you off at the agreed location with the guide to reach the first stop together. The meeting point will be located in a flat and easily accessible area.
You will visit the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo, where you can admire two paintings of Caravaggio, and the symmetry between the two twin churches, Santa Maria dei Miracoli and Santa Maria in Montesanto. You will understand with our guide how the architect of today's square designed the second church in a way to make it identical in perspective, enhancing the observer's perception of symmetry.
Let yourself be captivated inside the square by the imposing Flaminio Obelisk, the first to be brought to Rome as a sign of the power and grandeur of the Empire.
Enjoy a walk through culture and luxury towards Piazza di Spagna
Continue your accessible tour of Rome with a splendid walk along Via Del Corso, one of the main streets of the city, lined with numerous historical monuments and buildings of cultural interest and a multitude of luxury brand shop windows. The route is accessible to everyone, being flat and obstacle-free.
Once you arrive at Piazza di Spagna, you will immediately be struck by the magnificence of the Spanish Steps, which, with its 135 steps, leads to the Church of Trinità dei Monti. Next to the staircase, you will admire the Barcaccia Fountain, a work designed by Pietro Bernini and his son, the famous Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the genius of Baroque Rome, creator of hundreds of masterpieces, including the suggestive statues preserved at Villa Borghese.
You can also take advantage of the adequately equipped public service, easily accessible to people with reduced mobility located in the square.
Be enchanted by the magic of the Trevi Fountain
Admire on our tour of the historic center of Rome, one of the most famous fountains in the world, as well as one of its iconic symbols. Discover with our guide details, legends, and the stories inscribed in the bas-reliefs that tell the highlights of the history of the current fountain, from a small neighborhood fountain to a monumental work.
The pope promoted the final project to enhance the restoration he wanted of the aqueduct that feeds the Trevi Fountain, the only one surviving the collapse of the Roman Empire and still partially functioning in the Middle Ages. By increasing the flow of water and providing more to the residents of the neighborhood, who did not have it in their homes, the pope made his name immortal, also thanks to the choice of a memorable project.
The Trevi Fountain as we know it today was designed by Nicola Salvi in 1732, who worked tirelessly on it until his death, creating an atmosphere of grandeur and magnificence, of magic and mystery. The daily lives of the residents around the fountain certainly improved thanks to the abundance of water guaranteed by the restored system.
Thus, public intervention was appreciated by the people not only for its artistic values. Observing and understanding with our guide the changes in the daily life of our ancestors and what prompted them, you will have new parameters to evaluate the often frenetic rhythms of our societies and to imagine corrections.
Perpetuate the tradition of throwing coins into the Trevi Fountain
Throw a coin into the fountain by standing with your back to it. In this way, according to tradition, you will ensure your return to Rome. Make sure, therefore, to have coins with you to throw into the fountain.
Moreover, you will find yourself in one of the locations that made cinema history, the protagonist of numerous films like Federico Fellini's masterpiece "La Dolce Vita".
Question the uniqueness of the Pantheon with its only natural light source
On the path that will take you to the Pantheon, you will come across the Temple of Hadrian, located in Piazza di Pietra. Although much of the original structure has been lost over the centuries, you can admire the eleven columns of the temple that continue to enchant the square.
The itinerary, accessible to people with limited mobility, will lead you to Piazza della Rotonda, dominated by the imposing Pantheon. Originally conceived as a temple dedicated to all the gods of Olympus, the Pantheon is a symbol of the greatness of ancient Rome. Entering this temple, you will discover the most surprising part: the dome. In the center of the dome, you will see an opening called the "oculus," the only source of natural light inside the Pantheon.
The Pantheon is also accessible to people with reduced mobility
The square built on the ruins of a stadium.
Not far from the Pantheon, you will find Piazza Navona, built on the ruins of the Stadium of Domitian.
The square is enriched by three fountains, each with its own history and charm.
The Fountain of the Four Rivers is the central masterpiece of the square and, crowned by an Egyptian obelisk, represents the four main rivers of the known world at that time: the Danube, the Ganges, the Nile, and the Rio de la Plata.
To the south of the square, you will find the Fountain of the Moor, named after the sculpture of an Ethiopian holding a dolphin.
Finally, on the north side of the square, you will see the Fountain of Neptune, depicting the God of the sea in Roman mythology.
Surrounding the square, you will find the imposing Church of Sant'Agnese in Agone, with its Baroque facade and its millenary history, Palazzo Pamphilj, and the Church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
